Eligible applicants for the award must…
· Be working on a dissertation that is interdisciplinary in nature: either bridges two disciplines (e.g. history and biology), or bridges two fields within a discipline (e.g. comparative politics and biopolitics).
· Be working on a dissertation that has been accepted by the applicant’s dissertation committee.
· Complete an application form, 1-12 page resume, and a 200 word statement that describes the interdisciplinary nature of the dissertation.
The 2010 recipient will receive a $1000 award, a certificate, and recognition at the political science commencement ceremony. The 2008 recipient was Umeshkumar Patel, whose dissertation bridged physics and chemistry.
